I have a new 06 with about 1K miles, so far the car has not shown any of the hesitation and/or shifting lag problems the 02-05s are experiencing. I'm wondering if anybody with an 06 is? Has the problem been fixed with the 06?

 

Basically, your '06 transmission is the same as the '02-'05. During this time, Lexus has had a few program upgrades which corrected the shifting logic to avoid this lag, hesitation. Since you have an '06 these upgrades were already installed.

Thanks for the reply. It was not clear to me in all the Lexus forums why I did not see a lot of 06 owners (if any) complaining while there where many 02-05 owners still complaining of recent?

Because I did not see any transmission upgrades other then the service bulletins it seemed there was a disconnect somewhere why the 02-05s are still having the problem. At http://www.mycarstats.com/ there where NO 06 owner complaints while the 05 owners where screaming their heads off. All things being equal, I guess I’m just one the lucky ones?

This may be irrelevant but during the first 500 miles, because these trannies "learn" I manual down shifted 5-4-3 when coming to a stop. Whether this had any influence on it's shifting character is unknown.
