actually i had the same problem, and they replaced the entire sub with labor for free. Just make sure to let the service advisor/manager hear the clanking noise for themselves.

supposedly, the dealer would have to prove that what you did caused the other speakers to have popped in order to void the warranty.

mine has the same problem. it sounds terrrrible when i turn the volume up even a bit and the sub hits. just a nasty rattle from the trunk. i got my car back today after getting it serviced, campaign done, and the rattle looked at. The service tech had commented that the rattle was due to the bass settings i had. i was like hmm maybe?

total BS. right now i everything set to default and it still sounds like crap. i am going to take it back. let me know how your dealership treats the issue....

wait a sec bro! that is the exact same thing the service tech did with my car. The service manager totally agreed and acknowledged the clanking noise even when all settings were on default. Right after the service manager took my car in, the mechanic told me to come in the hanger and all he did was complain and moan that my settings were too high. IF he said that, please ask the service manager when he is right next to the mechanic if he heard the noise before. Also explain to them that if one wants a 7.1 surround system worth over 3000 dollars, then one should easily be able to select any settings and still achieve optimal performance. If they disagree, contact the service manager and tell him this is not a kia.
