Hey guys, I'm trying to install the GFX front lip and mine didn't come with the tape. I read people are using 3M moulding tape from Auto Zone but I need to know where it goes. Little help please...

iirc people are using 3m double sided tape if they are not drilling the bumper for the brackets on the gfx front lip to go in.

if you're drilling the bumper, you might not need 3m double sided tape...

Haven't heard of anyone drilling their bumbers. If I get the tape where would it go, on the upper bracket (the one you drill for, I guess)?

actually, the instructions that come w/ the front gfx lip says to drill the bumper.

drilling bumpers is not only for dealers; i had mine done @ a local shop here in socal (musicbox, anyone?).

the double-sided tape method is if you don't want to drill your bumper to mount the gfx lip.

I never even used the little bit of tape that comes with the GFX lip because I drilled. I can remove it and swap lips whever I like without having to deal with tape. I don't get what the fear is of drilling the bumper...

The dealer is overnighting me the tape. He said to use it where ever the lip touchs the bumper. And I didn't get any instructions except what I've read on the forum. There was a link on the L-tuned sport web site but when they raised their price they removed the instructions. If you could post or PM to me that would help too.

I agree. What did you do with tjhe tabs that were to be inserted in the holes you didn't drill? Did you just cut them off? I was thinking of using a razor blade and making little slits to push the tabs through.

So installation is fairy easy with drilling? I'm looking to buy the gfx lip this weekened. So 3M tape and the tabs is strong enough to hold it?

you can just rip the metal tabs off... they're just held on by double sided tape.
