The mileage is tracked in the gauge cluster, unfortunately. You can, however, get a good sense of the mileage of a car by examining the service records. You shouldn't be buying a used car without some sort of service history, and every time something is done (especially at a dealership) the mileage is recorded. You can compare the records to what the odometer reads and see if it jives. Hope this helps!

take it to lexus and have it checked out. I have never bought a used car without having it checked out by the dealer and also without checking the complete history of the vehicle.

I bought my IS with a salvage title, and had done research on every possible report site including carfax before my purchase. This is a must with all vehicles really. P.S do not buy a salvage lexus, even if its 15k cheaper than new
