2000 odometer question
Looking at a 2000 ES to purchase. The owner says he had to have odometer/cluster replaced. Says the ECU stores the mileage so what is reflected on the new cluster are true miles. Anyone know if this is correct?
Thanks
Thanks
Option A) Replace the cluster at the cost of the part + labor and put a sticker in the car indicating the mileage at replacement.
Option B) The customer pays a programming fee, and the new cluster is sent to Denso for the correct mileage to be programmed.
If he has the receipt for the service, you should be able to tell instantly. However, you should also be able to tell if you look at other receipts and the mileage at each service.
