Hey everyone,

I bought a CPO IS350 last year and have not been able to find out what came with my car. I was not very familiar with the ISx50 and had a short list of stuff I wanted. 18" wheels, heated/vented seats, mp3/CD changer and HID. After having it awhile, I joined CL and learned a lot but the more I learn, the more confused I got. My car doesn't fit the sports package or the luxury package but it has this:

wood trim, 18" wheels, heated/cooled seats, no-Lexus lighted kick plate, no-nav.

I read through the forums and read that since I don't have AFS in my menu so I probably do not have HID. I just took off my engine bay panels and found a thing that looks like a ballast on the left side that says Denso. I am now confused about having HID.

My question is if there was a way to find out what came with my car? (I emailed corporate, and talked to that dealer and they don't know since it was sold last fall.) Do I have HID? How can I tell for sure? I've checked the lighting section but this is more of how I can find out about my car.

I'd say it sounds like the "premium package". The thing that says Denso is likely on the fuse box, and has noting to do with HID. I'm guessing no HID for you, unless they put an aftermarket kit in there.

Your car just got the Premium Pack, Hid,18in Unless it just got Prem,18in then the previous owner they switch out to HID like you said it doesn't have AFS..(you can check your AFS icon on the display if it has one then you should see it and be able to turn it off and on)Period.

Packages are easy to figure out-

Does it have:
Memory seats AND a power rear sunshade? If yes then you have the Lux pkg.

Does it have:
Memory seats and NO power rear sunshade? If yes then you have sport pkg.

Does it have:
Heated/cooled seats but no memory seats? If yes you have Premium pkg.

Does it have:
No sunroof? If yes then it's X package without sunroof (the only way, sadly, to avoid a sunroof on US models)

Only tough one is the X package with sunroof since anything easily visible and unique can be swapped on to a base model fairly easily... but if it has sport pedals and the X pkg wheels it's likely X package.

easy way to see if you have HID or not:

goto your car, do not start the motor, turn on the low beam, do you hear a buzzing coming from the front of the fenders? if no, then you dont have HID.

Thanks guys, I figured it was the premium package with 18" added but the sales person said the car came with HID. At first it was fun trying to figure out what I supposedly got but it is starting to suck since it has a mix of "options". I got worked up again when I saw the fuse box on the strut.

HID vs Halogen, if you turn on the lights at night and its a quick splash of light then it fades onto full power, HID, turn on and you have full power imediantly then you have halogen.

I was able to take my VIN to a TOYOTA dealer and have them pull the original invoice. I think that Lexus should be able to do the same. It will be on the sales side. Just be honest with them and let them know you bought the car and you are not sure which options you have and would they please. It takes about 45 seconds. If they dont, go to the toyota store.

I was waiting for someone to say that. Yep, any Lexus sales person has access to that information. I had them pull one up on my '93 SC300 5MT that I got rid of years ago
