Is it common for the tire pressure to decrease to the point that the light comes on over the course of a few weeks, generally induced by colder weather? The car was garaged (and not driven) for the past 3.5 weeks and the light came on when i had just filled the air before leaving town.
I just want to know if this is normal or if i probably have a leak. also, this only seems to happen to the rear tires (one or the other, just depends). will the dealer fix it if it's a leak?
drastic change of temperature can definately affect the air in your tires. fill it up again, and check in a couple hours and see what happens. if your light comes on again, then most likely you have a leak somewhere.
well this has been happening for a few months now, not a one time issue. i'll fill it up, and after a few weeks, esp if i dont drive the car for a day or two, the tire pressure drops and the light comes on. seems like it's not normal, i'll see if i can find a nail or something
Well it all depends on what kind of wheels you're on. Aftermarket wheels? Cause if you have a three piece wheels its mostly likely to leak, just like mines. If I let it sit for a week or so I notice the psi drops crazy. But if you're on stock its probably you need a new set of wheels if they're worn out. Many possiblities, but just fill it up and see where it stands.
I just filled it up and the light never has come on since....
Same here. All of a sudden, the low pressure light comes on. I'm thinking great... gotta buy a new tire cause of a nail in the rubberband tires. Filled it up twice and it never happened again!

Phil, I've seen you post this a few times... 3 piece wheels aren't SUPPOSED to leak just because they're 3 piece wheels. If they're leaking, something is wrong with them, and you should get them checked out and fixed.
Not necessarily nails. My G20 had an issue with the stock rims. they bent easily and the tire would have a slow leak.. it is possible that is the case.. check for damage on the rim both on the inside and outside lip
