I have a DIY guide on another site...if you want.
I used Castrol Full Synth, 5W-30. Filter number from Lexus is 04152-YZZA5.
My dealership in houston uses 10w-30... You can use either of the three oils, but you are in a cooler climate so for WA I would choose the 5w-20.
The general rule of thumb is not to break in your engine using synthetics. It is true that some engines come with synethetic from the factory, and it's also true that most of the engine break-in has already happened in the first 5k miles, but I would probably wait until 10k or 15k to change to synthetic. I would use either Castrol GTX, or a synthetic blend (which is more likely to find in a 5w-20).
There are some people using higher-end "expensive" motor oils like Royal Purple... For sure it's a good oil, but our cars have a much larger sump than average for the application --- almost 7 quarts for 2.5 liters, normally aspirated. Also, you need to change the oil every 5k if you want to avoid hassles with the dealership in case of a warranty issue. Any name brand conventional oil should last 5k in these conditions, let alone a regular off-the-shelf synthetic like Pennzoil Platinum -- which is what I would probably use in an effort to keep the variable valve timing components in the top of the head as clean as possible, at a reasonable price. After 10-15k miles, of course.
My $0.02
