Default Manual IS350 is really out there

While I was getting my complimentary 5k service at the dealership, I was looking around the lot and the service guy comes and we have a conversation about the is350. I was told him that they need to make a manual 350 and what not, and he goes "Lexus did make very few manual 350s in the beginning." I was like "wtf you are lying." He told me it is 100% true and that he even had one on the lot a couple of months ago but sold on the same day! He also told me a had another one but that sold quick as well.

I dunno I'm still skeptical about it, but why would he lie about that anyway. What are your guys' inputs and thoughts.

Its not. ToyCo's transmission supplier makes neither clutch nor transmission that will handle that much torque. Also why the base model Tundra with the 1GR has no manual option.

Noobfest 2009 at your local Lexus dealer. If you didn't see it then DO NOT believe it. Lexus knows if they did mass produce a manual for the 350 they would have exceptional higher sales.

Its salesmen like this ***** that really irritate the hell out of me, how do you hire someone that doesn't study a simple product line.

I never understood that torque issue. Chevy has the blown LS9 motor that produces almost 600lbs of torque mated w/ a 6spd transmission on the corvettes..what the heeeezy man the supra made a shiezenload of torque too w/ a 6spd as well..where did these tranny manufacturers go toyota!?

I doubt that he was BS'ing on purpose - he was probably confused about the manual IS250. Those things are pretty rare, too.

CL info> any dealership info (unless directly from Lexus themselves.

I take it as standard that i know more about the cars, than the guys selling the car be it a lexus or any other make. This is our passion, its their job. (esp if he/she is in sales)

i wish it was true as well but its not. The only toyota tranny that can probably handle in this beast is the Supra 6spd tranny.. but too much $$
