Default Passport X50 DirectWire DIY// HEllo!

Hey Guys, little introduction

Been a CL member for a lil while now, great place, wealth of information, and a growing community. Haven't contributed much at all, and so I'd like to say my former Hello with a couple of pictures

and the artistic

She's an 07 AWD from Chicago. Brought her out here with me on the move to SF. So with that, What up CL, and What up SF!!

Okay, Back to the title.

The only two mods i've done are a Passport X50 Direct wire and tints, so here is my contribution.

I used the beginning of this DIY to take apart the center console and get behind the cigarette adapter.

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...en-moving.html

once you're in there, it looks like this.

the splicer and cable are both provided with the direct wire kit. I used a straightened out clothes hanger and fished the wire through the little canal on the left there.

I also knew that I wanted the mute button here

First thing is pull out the triangle here

then just pulled back on the cover towards the driver seat and it snapped off pretty smooth.

And there it is laying, with the ground wire tied up with that nut on the right hand side.

Once I ran the wire up the side of the dash, it tucked it into the sides and windshield with a flat head screw driver to go all the way around my windshield and have the radar sit next to my rear view mirror.

Yay!
First DIY, first actual hello to the forum. what up guys. If you have any questions or want more pictures, lemme know.

BTW. Does everybody's trunk look like this? I think this is a horrible design for the trunk if so.

you could've just tapped the power source in the rear view mirror, but i guess w/ (what looks like) the in-line volume control unit hardwiring it up there would be an issue.

very clean install for the amount of wiring you had to run. i hardwired my V1 using the rear view mirror as my power source, courtesy of this thread:

btw, welcome to clublexus. make sure you check out the socal subsection.

About the trunk - it looks like you're missing the panel that goes above the spare. Someone owes you an explanation.
