Default IS trade in

So a couple months ago I had gotten a 2009 IS250awd. Luxury package with navigation. I put about 3000 miles on it and then my wife became pregnant, so we're thinking about switching to the GS350awd, how much do you guys think I will get for the IS250?

why not get RX350?

If you going back to the same dealer where you bought the vehicle, and trade back in for another one. they might give you decent offer. but remember, you going to loose 6k off what you got it for.

Beside, your wife just got pregnant, you got another 9 months to make up your mind.

Is that 6k for the price before taxes or after?

Hey, congratulations on the new edition to your family!

I believe that's a 6k hit before taxes. Either way, it's going to be a hella big hit. I agree with speed_Demo, if you're working with the same dealer (and salesperson) and you're looking to trade-over to another Lexus, I imagine they'll try to make it worth your while. The fact that your car is loaded with only 3k on clock does help. AWD in Illinois is another thing in your favor. I'd definitely take some time to decide. I drive a IS350 with a 2 year old son in a forward-facing car seat and it's not a bad fit. The first year is tight since infants must sit rear-facing and reclined, but no worries about the fit after that.

And plus one on the RX... My wife drives one and we love it! Roomy without being bulky and Minnesota cold & snow don't even phase it... A great balance between luxury and practicality.

Go with an RX and get your self some lube before walking in at the dealer.

Don't forget to use book values when trade in, just don't go whatever the dealer give you. If not, go find another dealer, or work out something.

Remember, having a kid not only you need space for car seat, but accessories that come with it. RX350 will meet your demand, plus someone one on another post say there is a $5k "marketing support" for RX350.

GS350 only give you legs room. But personal benefit on RX out weight the extra cost.

I would have to agree with speed demo, the GS350 is nice but with the baby on the way, I would personally go for the RX. The RX has more room in the rear and more cargo space. You might eventually need the extra space to transport all the "baby" supplies.

Congrats on the new addition to the family and good luck on your decision.

Both the RX and the GS are good cars. You have to decide what would suit your needs better. My wife has an 08 RX and She loves it. It also has remote back door that You can open through your key fob or by just pushing a button on the dash.
Good luck in your search and keep us posted.
Thankyou
