WIthout a nav-bypass kit you can still use the steering wheel controls and do certain actions/view certain file info through nav screen. In those regards it's fine without the bypass kit but with the kit it would allow you to have full access to your ipod and control it through touchscreen. Then again, maybe you all dont have nav screens. I dont know.
The TSIB should fix the hum for free...A 90 degree angled 3.5mm plug is like $3 at radio shack.

Granted you don't get steering wheel controls or screen display, but it's an option for those wanting to spend $397 less.

Understandable. Just today I said a voice command and it misunderstood it as "track forward." Now why on earth would you press one button, wait for a voice prompt, say a command of "track forward" then wait for it to recognize it....when you can just hit the forward button.. Haha

The belkin charger/aux out cable I had been using is frayed to the point of being dangerous so that's in the trash. I ended up picking a liquid aux on amazon for $48 shipped. I didn't feel like spending $240 on a vaistech. I really don't care much about screen controls. More or less just wanted track forward functionality. I usually set it to a playlist and keep hitting forward. If anything its just annoying to have something else on the steering wheel.

Maybe I'll pickup a vais tech down the road. But with the aux input noise gone,
