Default Aux upgrade? Wtf?

Ok so I was on Sewells website and I notice the AUX port for the 2008 IS350 has been upgrade/fixed
I just purchased my car at a certified lexus dealership should this upgrade or fix be done for free?

the upgraded aux port could be referring to the one they install for the aux noise TSB. If you plug in a audio source into your aux jack and a charger at the same time, does it make an annoying whining noise? If so, you should be able to get the aux jack fixed free under warranty.

Free fix under the TSIB if you're still under the 4yr/50k. If not, I don't believe CPO warranty covers it.

WTF? That thing cost $200? You might as well ditch using Aux port all together and just get iPod interface kit.

did they update this for later models? I can't find anything for a 2009 on sewell's website..

either way, I would never pay $200 for it, I'd go in and complain if you notice something's up, if you have a good lexus dealer around ya you might get it replaced even if you are out of warranty... this could almost be categorised under the "recall" areas...

No, it really couldn't.

Recalls are for major safety defects that can kill or injure people... not "my ipod is whines"

If you're in warranty it's a free fix. If you're out then just spend 10-20 bucks on an in-line ground loop isolatior at amazon or radio shack, it'll do the same thing but just take up a little room inside the center console.
