i just got my car back from the dealership and they didnt fix anythign cause they could not reproduce the rattle. is there any way to get them to fix it without them having to hear it for themselves?

 

i'm having the same problem, except I have super amount of rattles on freeway or bumpy roads

 

I don't think they'll do it for the startup rattle--that's a pretty involved repair. I only had it occasionally, and my dealer wouldn't do it. To their credit, I've only heard it once or twice in the last 12 months.

 

The dealer won't fix anything they can't duplicate. If they can't hear the start up noise, they're not going to fix anything because it's not broken per their examination.

I described the conditions under which I had the issues very precisely. They duplicated my problem both times and performed the repair both times.

 

funny thing is that like 3 or 4 start ups after I got it back it made the rattle sound.

 

Leave it the night before, so they can start it up cold.

DId you take it to Lindsay? I took mine there and they fixed mine. So far so good.

 

I will try them. I go to Pohanka since they r 3 min away. Will lindsay give me a loaner even though I didn't buy the car from them?

 

yea they will but you have to make an appt for it. I bought mine out of state and they gave me a loaner last time. It might be a honda or hyundai though unless you request for a lexus.

 

How long did it take them to fix? (I have the startup noise now too!)

mine has a weird rattle that sounds like its comming from the left side of my car when i come to a complete stop somtimes? normal???

 

They had my car for 4 nights. The first morning after an overnight it didn't happen, so they wanted to keep it for 2 more nights, and start it up the 3rd morning. That morning it happened, and they went ahead and fixed it between that day and the next. Picked it up and hasn't happened since.

 

Do you happen to have a water bottle in the door bottle holder?

When I come to a complete stop... if i have a water bottle in there sometimes the bottle starts vibrating...

Wish they could have put some padding on the bottom...

 

mines is an 08 is350 and i also have the rattle when i start it up, seems like alot of people with (IS) MODELS is all having the same problem. but i still have to make an appointment for my rattle sound. i hope lexus will do something about this rattling complaints im kinda disappionted with this problem.
