Default A car DOES NOT make a person!

Just be grateful for what you have...some other people don't even own a car! I didn't have ANY car in high school! Plus, you wouldn't want to crash this nice car racing and then deal with the aftermath of everything, better yet...save your life or another! Racing is WACK on the streets! If you gonna race do it on the track!

Safety and survival is important in the early years of driving.

I think that sums it up best. If you feel the need to have to prove yourself to your friends or out-do them, something isn't right. True friends don't put you in that position. And if they aren't, but you are still feeling like you aint up to their caliber, then the issues lies within yourself. True friends are there for each other, support each other, work with each other, and share laughs together. It shouldn't be a competition or stress for you. Remember the important things that count... not metal and tires. The high school years are about as fun and easy as life will be. Enjoy yourself and make good memories.

lol.. sell it and grab a bike. That's what everyone use to do when they couldn't afford a fast car and want speed. My friends would always ask me to race them in their r1/r6 against my is350..just **** me off that I can't beat them..

time to get some nitrous?

to the OP:

all that power and no common sense to go with it is a recipe for impending disaster, regardless of how many presumptions you make.

if anything, be glad you got a more expensive car than your peers.

You're 17 and your parents gave you an IS250 and your upset

When I was your age my parents bought me a craptastic 89 Geo Metro 3 speed auto with 3 cylinders of fury(you want to talk about slow and not to mention a chick repellent )

Its really up to your parents since they bought you the car. If they are ok with it, trade it in for something faster (STI, EVO, G35, 350Z, NSX, etc). If the faster car is more expensive you gotta save up to pay the difference. Your parents are going to take a huge loss (~$5k) if they decide to switch cars so be mindful of them. Either way definitely be happy with what you have.

Look on the bright side. You may not have the fastest car at your school but you definitely have the classiest. Also, in some parts of the world, an IS250 would be someones dream car.

85 Jeep Cherokee for me.

You don't want to be caught dead in a WRX, EVO, Si, (ect). Think of how many cops will pull those kids over while you will just cruise past laughing with a car full of girls.

i had a 88' mazda 626 with 270,000 miles, wich i loved!

dont be pissed that civics can beat you, there very light and VERY easy to make fast, with $2000 in the motor they can spank a IS-F ive owned a civic for 7 years. there cheap to make fast, but as far as looks/luxury?? well thats why im saving up for an is350

if you feel you need more power, then sell it and buy is350, might need maybe a $5k loan, wich even a part time job should easily beable to make payments.

Dude, you need to tell ur parents to get u a bugatti. But seriously, you should be happy with your car even though it's a little slow. When I was in high school I drove a '92 LS 400, and this was like 4-5 years ago. I really liked it despite the fact that my friends called me "old man."

Honda Civics... and accords.... pretty easily on roads and also highways... what's up with speed.... i don't think you are really in need of it since you're in high sch... and i'm in college... so yeah... you might wanna try the intake and the exhaust... the F-Sports... might give u a little boost... but yeah
