Default I'm Back!

I"m back after leaving the lexus community for about a year. I had an '06 IS 250 that I bought new in '06 when I joined this forum. I got in an accident in oct '07, when my car was a total loss. I then decided to buy an '08 BMW 328i coupe. Big mistake, it turned out to be a lemon! So as I'm turning in my "lemon" at BMW, I notice a pre-owned IS250, and to make a long story longer, here I am again I think I got a pretty good price on it, it's on '07 with 25K miles, and I got it for 24,700. It also had the VAIS ipod controller already installed, which is something I was gonna do anyway.

Happy you came back to the light. BMW seems to pump out a lot of lemons

Thanks Guys. BTW, the car did come with only one key fob, any idea how much it's going to cost for a 2nd one? I don't feel comfortable with only 1. I also need an owner's manual, but I went to the lexus site and ordered one

I bought the car on New Years day of this year, and I turned it in yesterday, so I had it for just under a year. The problem I had was the DSC control module. The code I kept getting was (DSC inactive) It took them 4 times to finally fix it, but by that time, I had enough and filed with BBB. I saw the dealer 4 times before I even had my first scheduled maintenance!

Daniel_G welcome back! I believe a fob is around $2-300 because they have to program the thing too. Did the previous owner lose a fob?

Ouch! but I guess I should have a back up one. yes, the dealer told me that the previous owner only turned in one key fob. Thanks!

I thougt about getting a 350, but this is my daily driver, so a 250 will suffice. Besides, my "garage queen" more than satisfies my HP urge, I also have a '02 Camaro SS with headers, LS6 cam, 4.10 gears, and a custom dyno tune...375 HP to the wheels

Glad I didn't get the 07 335 coupe for my daily driver, much happier with a 07 IS350.

btw, Congrats on the re-newed Lexus ownership.

I had an '97 ES 300 that I was bored with and replaced in '06 with a BMW
325i. Within the first year I got nails in 3 of the run flats (hated the ride), got scraped 2X while parked and had a limb fall on it while driving on a windy day. That was when I was able to drive it. It had a persistent whine coming from the engine under low acceleration that 2 dealers could not fix even after replacing the camshaft. I told them I wanted my $ back under the lemon law and went back to Lexus- an IS 250. Reliability won out.
