Is disappointment with IS250 AWD's performance in snow due to car/tires/conditions?

Default IS 250 is crap in snow

Traction control cuts out accelerator. Bull****
Seriously worst car I have EVER driven in snow
My MR 2 with studded snows will run circles around this POS
I routinely drive in snow as they usually don't plow until after I leave in the morning. My Tundra is awesome
The PWR/SNOW setting does nothing to keep the accelerator from cutting out. I know how to drive in snow! Been driving in horrible conditions with no problems for 40 years. I need to be able to use the accelerator when I need it. Not when some engineer in Japan decides for me

I drove an '07 and '10 IS-250 AWD I loved these cars in the snow. I found them just a hoot to drive in the snow.
When I retired in '11 and realized that I didn't need AWD I switched to an IS-F. A truly great car to drive. Now when it snows, I go back to bed.

Since you have an '06, you can do the pedal dance to turn off traction control, if that's what you want. (Though you would have to do it every time you re-start the car)

Do you have the AWD model? With winter tires? Hard to believe you are having serious traction problems with that setup.
