Hello,

I am wondering whats the name of the oem bulbs that come with the HID headlights.

I think they come oem as 4200k, can you change them to 6000k?

I am asking this because i was told you cannot change them, because if you do, the computer knotices them and shuts them down. Is this tru?

Our OEM HID brand is PHILLIPS D4S bulb.. I've swapped mine to 6000k XD brand.. so far no problems.. Majority of the members here also upgraded their bulbs without changing the ballast

 

HID has been discussed alot
and yes,,you can upgrade it to 6000k or 8000k
most people go with 60000k

i don't know the brand, but the D4S's are 4300k.

and yes, you can change them to 6000k. you can buy them from xenondepot or mobileHID (two of our clublexus vendors) - or anywhere else that sells HID bulbs.

and no, the computer does not shut down the HID's if it notices non-factory bulbs.
