my spare smart key died FOB...i've only used it like 5 times since i bought my car..i had my car for almost 2 years why did my spare smart key died first before my regular key...isn't suppose to last for a while since you haven't really been using it....anyway is there any DIY to replace the battery on our smart key FOB...I'VE USED THE SEARCH BUTTON and seems not to find it...thnx for the help..... sorry if repost.....

 

Chris, the procedure is in the manual. It is really easy. Use the metal key to pry it open. Be careful not to break anything though.

 

I'm pretty sure it's right in your owner's manual. Eject the mechanical key, and you'll see a slot. Put the end of the key in that slot, and then twist to pry the two halves of the key fob apart.
