Default wtf dealer is refusing to replace my brakes

I have an 08 is250,
Took my car to Lexus of West Kendall to have a regular oil change and to do the TSB on my brakes for the less brake dust revised version and because my brakes have had extremely loud squeaks.

service advisor said no because i have 14k miles on my car? the tsb says as long as im in warranty they can change it. So then i asked him "so how about the squeaks?" and he tells me "Thats normal on the IS". I use to own a 2006 Lexus IS and never had loud squeaks like that.

whats the deal?

BS. Take it elsewhere if the manager doesn't come through. Talk to somebody else.

I had 31k on my brake pads that were making noise because they were Gone. They still did it for free under TSB.

print out the TSB and ask him where it says 14,000 miles is too much.

According to the Lexus TISB L-SB-1021-08 Sept.24,2008

"APLICABLE WARRANTY

. This repair is covered under Lexus Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 48 months or 50,000 miles, whichever occurs first , from vehicle's in-service date.

.Warranty application is limited to correction of a problem based upon a customer's specific complaint"

Check out the post by I350jet on the following link to obtain a printable pdf file of this TSIB. If they still wont do it, a complaint to lexus customer service is in order!

try emphasizing that you're not happy with the excessive brake dust. don't mention the squeaks. the tsb is to address the brake dust issue, not the squeaks.

As others have stated, your dealer is being unsupportive . They replaced my pads at 11k with no questions asked. they get comped by Lexus for this anyway.

Like others have said. You need to complain about excessive brake dust first. Then hand them the TSIB print out.

Call corporate LEXUS and "beef" the dealership, concurrently call the Service Manager and "beef" the service idiot. I know it is a bit of a pain, but we need to call idiots on their lies if we are ever going to get proper and competent service advisors!

June 30, 2006

TSB REVISION NOTICE :

^ April 27, 2007: 2006 - 2007 model year IS 250 vehicles have been added to Applicable Vehicles and the Warranty Information table. The Parts Information table has been updated.

^ January 19, 2007: 2006 - 2007 model year IS 350 and 2007 model year GS 350/430/450h vehicles have been added to Applicable Vehicles and the Warranty Information table.

Previous versions of this TSIB should be discarded.

Introduction

Some Lexus vehicles are equipped with high-friction front brake pads, specifically designed for superior braking performance and response. As a result, under certain conditions, it is possible for the customer to experience a larger volume of brake dust on the wheels.

For customers who find these characteristics objectionable, an alternative brake pad material has been developed. As with any change made to brake pad material, braking performance and feeling may be altered and could possibly be reduced under certain driving conditions as a result of their usage.

These alternative front brake pads have now been made available as service parts.

Applicable Vehicles

^ 2006 - 2007 model year GS 430 and IS 250/350 vehicles.

^ 2007 model year GS 350/450h vehicles.

Warranty Information

Applicable Warranty*
This repair is covered under the Lexus Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 48 months or 50,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.

* Warranty application is limited to correction of a problem based upon a customer's specific complaint.
