Wind noise...
I have wind noise coming from my driver side window whenever I go 70mph and up, anyone else have this problem or has there already been a TSB or something for this already? It's not extremely loud but easily noticeable with the music off. If I took my car into the dealer to get this fixed do you think they'd end up messing up more in the process of trying to fix the problem??
I know one thing for sure, they will charge you at least 100+ dollars for a stupid diag that they will tell you that they can't do anything about it. At least you get a car wash out of it, so you'll get a 100 dollar car wash.
I used to have this problem with my old S2000. Shin-etsu grease did the trick.
It's a grease that you can apply to all door seals. Reduced wind noise quite a bit.
If I remember correctly, it's commonly referred to as silicone grease at auto stores.

aznboi27: shouldn't a problem like this be covered under warranty though?
tfz_hebe89: I was hoping there'd be some kind of easy fix but it sounds like it's coming from the corner of the window which seems like it be really hard to reach...
l3randonki: yeah true... don't really wanna goto the dealer but the sound does get annoying if the music is off, kind of like a fly buzzing around my ear lol
now that I think about I think it may be because I got my windows tinted and the tinter might have forced the squeegee to hard on just that window? just a guess...

Yea I have this now too, What I'm saying is I just had my windshield molding replaced under warranty & now I have this noise. I don't ever remember hearing this noise before the moldings were replaced.
. I guess its going back.

My car started having the same problem after about 1-1/2 years.
One of the things that you can do is to condition the rubber lining to prevent drying. I use leather conditioner wipes to help keep it pliable (about 2-3 times a year). This has helped significantly.
Also, you can try to reseat your rubber lining. I never did it, but you can get a professional to remove and reset the lining. That may also help.
Good luck!
That's what i recommended doing above. Silicone grease however requires less re-application than leather conditioner would.
LOL
my car's only 3 months old, now that I think about it I already had the noise before I got my tints so I guess that wouldn't be the cause. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll definitely try it, keeping the rubber pliable that is. As for reseting the lining I'll probably hold off on that unless the noise gets really bad, I dislike the thought of other people taking parts of my car apart lol. If I did choose to have that done though could I have the dealer do it for me for free under warranty? Or is it really a bad idea for me to have anything done by the dealer unless I absolutely have to? After reading about all the dealer horror stories on this forum I'm a little skeptical about going there for anything as it seems like every time anyone takes their car into the dealer for whatever reason they get it back with problems much worse... and in that case I'd def rather just live with it.
How old is your car?
