Default ventilated seats upgrade?

Just wondering if there's any techs on here who knows the process to upgrade the seats to ventilated option.

Rode in my buddy's IS today (was pretty hot day), and his black leather was actually much cooler to the touch then the non-perforated version in my car...so now I'm regretting a bit I didn't get the option to begin with

I checked on Sewell's website and found this picture:

If I just wanted the perforated seat padding and seat back with heat/cool option... do I need to buy a whole new seat and rail assembly?

If so, what's the part number(s)? I'm a little confused at Sewell's part descriptions on their site

TIA for the help

I think its more then just the seat part. Youll need new seats, how will your seats be ventilated if theres no holes for it to blow out of? Also you will need the switch.

^^ well from the picture it looks like the seat and the padding itself are two seperate assemblies, so they could switch out the perforated leather with non-perforated leather padding on the same seat part number. This appears to be consistent with the description on Sewell's site ...(I think).

but regardless, i forgot the back seats are going to have to perforated as well, so that's not going to match

may be more trouble then its worth to install.

Much cheaper to just get sheepskin seat covers.

For what little the seat "ventillators" do, it would be a colossal waste of money to mess with the seats or to trade in the car. The seat heaters are nice in winter but still not worth the money to upgrade, IMHO.

I'd stick with your non-ventilated setup and enjoy it!

Well, I have the Switch for the Heating/Ventalation in my non heated/ventalated IS. The plug is already in the car, and powers the switch(I wanted the wood trim).

Its probable that that the wiring is already in the car.

My suggestion. Ebay. I have seen seats there for $800 or so for the complete set.

Anyone here know if the wiring is active for the heat and ventilation in non-heated and ventilated IS250? Would this have to be activated in the ECU at the dealership or is there a workaround for this? I just bought a set of heated and ventilated for my car and the power seats work but I have yet to hook up the heating and ventilation as I am still looking for the switch at a scrap yard. I see that the wiring is all there for this.
