2008 Is 250 Awd
Just drove 2 different IS 250 AWD , LOVE THE CAR (except !!!!) when we get on the highway with the sunroof down there is vibration so bad that you can't see out of the rear view mirror, we rolled the windows down and to no avail. There is also that "vortex sound " like whan you just have that back window open going down the street ( voomp voomp voomp ect.) That's the way me and the misses like to drive ,sunroof open. Have the RX 350 2008 Aand can drive at any speed sun roof open widows closed no issues . Can any comment ??? Thanks in advance for your help.
I think there's a TSB for the rear view mirror vibration even though it's 06-07 your dealer might still honor it https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...view+vibration For the sorta thumping sound you mention, I have that too if the rear windows are about half down or so. I just crack open the two fronts to I guess relieve some of the pressure.

The 2gen does create this vacuum phenomenon type wind sound with the sunroof open on the highway. Have to play with the window settings like others have mentioned. It is a simple design issue and no reflection of bad seals.

the 350'S hood is raised to allow for the bigger engine , does this eleminate that issue? The 2 250's I drove this week , I never was able to adjust the windows to completely eliminate the noise , why does the rear view mirror shake like that and what do they do to fix it ?
I have that car and it's a problem. Too rough. It's worse with other cars, believe it or not. The only one I thought was nice was a Saturn Aura with a panoramic sunroof. It was an open, refreshing, breezy experience with a lack of road noise due to the side windows all being closed. It was almost the width of the roof and about 1/3 of the length of the roof. My local dealer only got one of those in stock. They discontinued the panoramic roof for unspecified production problems. My dad's Hyundai has a smaller sunroof and the turbulence and noise is worse.

don't open the sunroof all the way to max. open it 1 click away from max so you don't get that sound. also switch your air conditioner to outside air circulation. I drive like this also when i'm cruisin on the highway. around town all windows go down for more airflow
A/C and Heat only when necessary for me

Allegedly, if you turn the sunroof **** on notch short of all the way, to the "o" mark, it is supposed to reduce the wind noise. Personally, I haven't notice much difference.
It's sort of the price you pay for a vehicle that is highly aerodynamic. It is designed to slip through the air as a solid - all windows & roof closed. Open a window or sunroof and you interrupt the lines of airflow causing turbulence. Try it on an aerodynamic pig such as a Hummer, and you'll see that you don't get the thumping wind effect because the vehicle itself creates huge amounts of turbulence that the added open window or sunroof makes no difference.
