Default another front plate thread - nipple issue

i share the pain with you all who have *gasp* front plates installed and didn't want them in the first place. i have read many threads on this already but have not yet come to a clear conclusion to my situation. we all know the bumper plug solution is available which is where i'm headed. however when i removed the front plate the holes were raised more than i had hoped . it's more of a volcano than a nipple.

how can you install the plugs and have a flushed fit in this case? heat the holes? i can only see that as an option. sadly i see the paint thin out around the holes. also i received extra pain from the actual plate bolts scratching the paint. would touch up paint cure this?

thanks in advance guys. i'm starting to love this board, which is reflected in my productivity lately .

it is the same as my car, 2 marks + 2 holes...

I just keep my bumper dirty to let the marks stay with all bugs / mud marks

Usually, if the hole has that nipple / volcano affect from the screw, all you would do is cut it away and make it flat with a razor blade...

Then the bumper plugs will sit perfectly flush..

Also, Aerotect will install the clear bra on the bumper first and the plugs will go on last... They will trim those holes to make sure the plugs sit flat.

I am dealing with this exact situation right now, but my dealer used really long screws on both the bracket, and the plate, so I have four holes total, and two of them are 'nipples'.

I told the dealer I was unhappy, they in turn are repainting the front bumper entirely. Then, when that is done, I will have to wait a few weeks, then have the invisible bra put on. THEN, I am having the car 'ziebarted' along with the diamond gloss paint protection.

Luckily Lexus of Riverside don't drill holes on the new cars cuz they know alot of customers don't want the plate. I was gonna buy this dealer trade IS 250 with 18" package in tungsten pearl until I saw the plate up front

lmao! I am working on this right now as we speak. Mine looks exactly like that and trying to get the plugs in are a real pita my thumbs hurt lol. I got one almost in but it hits the nipple/volcano part so I guess Ill try and use a razorblade to clear it I guess. Can that sealent crap come off around the screw? Or should I ever bother with it.

edit: ahhhh **** guess I should have read on this before doing this to see if there were problems like this, now I have the left side one in (sort of ) it hits the nipple/volcano and the right not yet but I trimmed the right one down but now I cant do the left one becuase it is in pretty good. So am I screwed or is there a way to take them out easily or do I have to tug on it hard and by new ones?
