I just saw two double deck big rigs loaded with Lexus IS's
I'm on the opposite side of the fwy on the 5 headed to LA
seems like they were headed to the sfvalley, all 09's, the wheels
gave it away, all nice and wrapped with the bonet protector
and plastics, well back to traffic lol

Hmm I think what upsets me most about the 09 (based on what I can tell from our ordering system) is that in order to get Obsidian black with black leather interior (which is what I have currently on my 08), it forces you to get one of three packages (2 luxury packages with MSRPs of $3,496 and $4,325 or one premium package with MSRP of $1,290), none of which are what I want.
On my 08 I wasn’t “Required” to get any packages simply for choosing Obsidian with black leather interior. So for 09 unless I get alpine or ivory leather, I have to get one of those packages….
…..and that’s what really grinds my gears.

Does this include a Straight Up "Special Order" ??
Trust me when I tell you in 2007-2008 you / I could not find a "Sport Packaged" IS350 just sitting on the lot.. unless it was a cancelled order...
I end up ordering mine just as I wanted from SouthBay... see the codes in my sig...

I am seriously considering ordering mine, with hopeful delivery end of December...just need to check out some more things i.e. cost to change lights to IS-F tails or red-outs, cost of new rims (Definitely getting rid of the lobster claws) etc....

I was referring to ordering straight up through our vehicle ordering system at TMS (Toyota corporate). As soon as I pick the black leather interior on the Obsidan exterior, I get a pop up message saying "The following items are required with your selection of Obsidian and Black Leather" .....and I'm staring at the screen going "BUT I DON'T WANT THAT!!!!" hahaha

I too stopped by my local lexus dealership today and I have to say it looks great in person. The tails look great, might even like them better than the old ones now that i've seen them side by side in person.
The rims look good too, I really don't think they look bad at all.
Oh and the white stitching on the leather looks awesome

hey jenn, when did u place your order for your IS? I think they stopped the ordering for 2008s in june iirc.
I placed my order on April 21st and my IS arrived on August 22
Right now I'm trying to configure the Tundra because I'm debating if I want another IS or a Tundra next time around (yes two complete opposites I know) haha

We purchased and had the clear bra installed at the dealership. The salesman quoted that the clear bra was $595. When we went into the Finance Managers office to finalize the deal the Finance Mgr said it went up to $795 because it now covers more areas, though he did honor the original quote of $595. They did an excellent job and we are extremely pleased with the work. The car looks even better with the tinted windows.
