Default Nav hack done but....

I just did the nav hack in my 07. I have the ML player and i also did that grounding of the red wire. I had cut the pink and white wire and put them together.

After all this, i am now able to watch dvd while in motion.
The problem i just noticed is that my back up camera is no longer in working mode. It just goes blinks in and out with picture then all goes all black with no picture at all. Any clues on how to fix this?

Also my nav is not jumpy and not smooth. Any solutions?

are you positive you got the correct wires? take a pic and just double check. I still have had no problems to date with the ML DVD player or the Navi.

also did you run a switch?

I am positive the correct wires.

In the J50 there's on one pink wire.
In the P1 there's only one solid white wire. And 2 white wires with black strips. I did not find a white wire with silver strip.

is anything wrong there?

PM me and I will help you. I think you have a wrong wire as mine was white with gray on it.

and Did you install a switch or not?? If not here is what I am going to suggest. Go get a switch and remove everything again as you are going to need to anyway to get this working. The switch is going to make your life easier now that you have done this much already! This will work and I can help you over the weekend or later at night! I am just not on here as much with other things going on right now. I can swap phone numbers with you also and we can chat over the phone if that is of help

Agreed!
If you do the hack correctly, you won't experience any problems. I did it two months ago. So far no problems to report.

i see that and just posted! I am 99.9% sure its not his navi hack and I helped him out with it. I posted in that thread for DJ to contact me and I will help him. I am pretty sure I know what the issue is...this is the same day that Matt and I where changing the springs and we had 10 things going on at once at my house. you can see my notes in that thread. IMO even if you install that plug and play and something goes wrong you can void your warranty. You are still altering the car from OEM. I know I wouldnt want to take my car apart every time I had to take it in.....

NAV PROBLEM!!! HELP!

hey guys, I have done the nav mod on my 2007 IS250. I have cut the 2 proper wires and put a switch in between both the wires. (I know the hack that everyone is posting up is telling you to just cut the pink wire completely and connect the pink wire from the loom to the Nav J1 white-silver wire and a switch in between, but I decide to just cut both wires and put a switch in between both the wires so I can just cut both the VSS signal to both the display and the Nav unit.)

I am now able to unlock the DVD channel and watch iPod Videos through the VAIS kit while in motion. HOWEVER, the Navigation Menu is still locked once the car is moving after the GPS starting picking up the signal. Yea, sure the car is kinda off in the map, but all of the features such as POI, address is still locked once the car is in motion....any suggestion?

My guess is that regardless if the Nav unit doesn't have any signal from the VSS wire, once the car is in motion after awhile (15-30sec) the Nav unit is smart enough to know the car is in motion. Am i right?!?
