something whack about 08

i couldn't seem to override the nav system nor could i disable the seat belt alarm. what the **ck! i have an 08 is250 btw.

I have an 08 and i turn my seatbelt buzzer off, are you sure your doing it right?

I turned off the seatbelt buzzer on my friend's 2008 IS.

my first time took me a while to turn it off.

seatbelt disable works fine on 08s.

Nav override doesn't work on -any- 2IS except the 06s that still use the original nav firmware... so anything newer than 06, or any 06 that used an updated Lexus DVD, won't have it.

(there's a hack to burn your own disc to retain the old firmware and still update the maps though)

reminder that the seat belt 5 ding alarm after start-up cannot be disabled. but the drive without belt alarm for driver and passenger works [disable].

I must do this disable alarm thing. My puppy is big enough now that when she rides in my front seat the freakin' "no seatbelt alarm" goes off. That "ding, ding, ding" noise drives me crazy and scares my dog.

Yes.. I agree! At first I didn't know that it was only for the 06', so I kept trying it on my 08 and it didn't work! I guess you have to buy the kit to override it. good luck!
