2009 IS facelift (merged threads)
Today I received the latest issue of Lexus magazine in the mail. On page 16 they talk about the 2009 Lexus SC Pebble Beach Edition and then have this to say about the 2009 IS:
"Also arriving soon: updates for the Lexus IS. Think turn signals in the side mirrors, a new front grille, 17- and 18-inch wheels, and fresh color options, plus Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM) in the IS 250. Look for the 2009 IS in dealerships this September."
It doesn't say if these are all of the changes for 2009 or just some of them.

Uh oh, I am not sure if I like the sound of "a new front grille" since that really didn't go well with the GS face-lift IMO.
Looks like no change will be made to both engines? Not even couple more HPs?

everything I heard...one that isn't on there is the JDM style fogs. The side turn will be a huge improvement! I like our front grill they should have it come blk IMO that would be 2 great improvements. I guess I will see this later today then when I get home.

Sorry, my scanner is not working. But you're not missing anything...I posted everything mentioned and there are no photos.
I'm hoping there are additional changes not disclosed...for one, I'd like to see the amber removed from the taillights.

Im not sure how a new grille will work unless they change it like to the LS style (Lx-Mode)
I would love to see the side mirror signal lights, hopefully its like the 08 GS style so i can get the covers too

would putting VDIM on a 250 actually improve anything, or would it just be a marketing tool?
or could it be that they are putting VDIM on the 250 to prepare for a power increase during the next refresh?

I highly doubt there will be any additional changes. (maybe another coin holder)
Removal of the amber from the tail lights is wishful thinking since clear tails are an IS-F exclusive and I doubt there will be any OEM red-outs.
New side mirrors, grill, wheels, and color sounds like enough for refresh year.

It will not change much for the IS250s... It doesn't go off on the IS350 much unless you start pushing it...I doubt they will be a power increase...maybe when they completely redesign it for the third generation, but not anytime soon...
