used ECM replacement "help" vin registration
its a 2006 is250
I had to replaced my ecm in the engine bay. I bought a used one because a new one would cost $1000+ .. Car runs and dies because of used ecm is registered to the previous vin.
I was wondering is it possible to Re-write the vin number in a used ecm that vin has already been burned to ecm.
the place i bought the ecm from said theres people that have bought a few is250 ecms before and never came back to return it... so there should be a way somehow to re-write the vin huh?
i'm about to take it to lexus to get the vin registered, but dont want to end up being told ecm needs to be replaced with a new ecm thats in registration mode.
