Default New IS250 owner!

Hi all, just picked up my 2007 Lexus IS250 with 19k mi. Traded in a Lancer Evolution 8 GSR for it and paid a little more. I got 2 kids now, and that thing is a tin can, and it was only a matter of time before the EVO got me into trouble, but I did thouroly enjoy that car.

I didnt know much about the new IS's I test drove quite a few and fell in love with this one. I've come to find out through another post that it has the Lexus HKS exhaust and then I guess it has the X-package, which I guess gives you these wheels, the front lip, and illuminated door seals. Unless they all have the door seals, I never saw any of the ones I test drove at night heh.

My only gripe is that it has a clear bra all over the car: bumber, hood, mirrors, in front of the rear wheels, even on the edge of the doors.. which is cool, I just dont like how it looks on the hood.. a big line going all the accross the center of the hood. Seems like it would be a ***** to remove too. Here are some picks from the dealership.

COngrads on the car!

Looks like it has the Xpackage wheels only being it has the wood trim on the inside. the X package would have silver Trim instead. Maybe a dealer accessory when the original owner purchased or they just added them down the road!

Either way looks good and has many nice features!

Congrads again!

IS + CL = Trouble haha...

Congrats and Welcome to the Club!

A big for the HKS exhaust. You got a $1200 exhaust without even knowing it...

Also, a big for your clear bra. Another $700 mod that you got for free. Although you see it, not a lot of people won't. And that thing will help save your soft paint from chipping, which can cost hundreds of dollars to repair in the future.

Thanks guys, spent most of the morning reading the FAQ thread, great to have a site so organized with so much info readily avaible. Def looking into that nav hack so I could watch dvds on it. Can you watch DVDs on it while parked?

Does your car have the Mark Levinson option? I ask because I don't see the Mark Levinson logo in your pictures. Without the Mark Levinson/Navigation package, you can't play DVDs, as you only have a CD changer, not a DVD changer. If you have the Nav/ML package, you should be able to play DVDs with the parking brake engaged without the need to do anything else.

Amen brother! Club Lexus is like crack for us Lexus owners! After perusing here for a while you'll probably buy new rims (at least 19's, if not 20's), have a suspension mod or two, and an exhaust! JK!

Congrats on your IS purchase. You'll be glad you have that clear bra, as it saves the front of your car from all the thousands of little rock chips that make the front end look like the surface of the moon in a few years. I have it and am glad I paid to get it!

Yea It doesnt have a ML logo on it anwhere, I though it was because it sounded pretty good and had a center channel speaker. It does have a 6disc changer though. I need to stop reading about mods, etc and more about what I already have i guess lol.

Not sure how big you or your kids are, but if you plan on taking them in the IS, it's going to be a tight squeeze in the back.

Have fun!

You guys are right.. I already have all these things wizzing through my mind what I want to do to it, must maintain self control.

Yea its a step down from the EVO, but such a big step forward in comfort and toys. I really like it. The kids are 2 and one in the oven, so as long as I can get some car seats back there its good.
