Smile Wheel Wax

For these of you who haven't gotten the TSIB done for the brake dust, I highly recommend using wheel wax. It doesn't hide the brake dust completely, but IMO, it helps a lot. Also, the wax makes it a lot easier to wipe off the brake dust/dirt in between car washes. I plan on getting my brake pads changed at my 5k service (if possible for an '08), but I'll be using Mother's Mag & Aluminum Polish until then.....good stuff!

yeah, funny I havent got the brakes done yet, but I tried waxing one front wheel and not the other, and the waxed wheel actually was much cleaner after 3 days & that was with regular caranuba wax.

OP, so that Mother's Mag wheel polish is the best? Have you tried any others?

A few things about waxing rims. For one, it should be done to protect the finish, just like you do for the paint of the car. Second, as you mentioned, it makes it much much easier to clean off brakedust, road oil, grime, and road spray. The only drawback is a week or two after you have done the waxing process, the wheels actually attract a higher amount of brakedust. This is due to the clean, shiny surface, and static (created from removing wax with a dry cloth). The dust will sticks like crazy. Once the wax starts wearing off over time, the brakedust build up returns to it's normal rate. But it's all so much easier to wipe off. It's worth it for this alone. But like I mentioned above, waxing your rims protects the clearcoating/finish and makes the shine last longer. You'll also notice less pitting, as small debris slips off the rim easier. Hope this helps! =)

Get ceramic brake pads! You'll see the difference between OEM brake pads.

When I took my wheels off to paint my calipers, I waxed the inside of the wheels to remove the winter salt etc. It is a pain, but the results are worth. I used Zymol and I do need to pic up some more wheel wax, I use to use that great stuff on my Konig Villians many moons ago.

Just installed and they grab better then the OEM and I have NOOOOO dust on my front rims

TO the OP...Yes that is a great idea to do and to help maintain that. You should see Brian231's car and how clean it is because of stuff like this that he does due to living in Chicago! This will help you in the long run!! Great Idea

Wheel Wax is awesome. It keeps the dust down (doesn't eliminate it)

But what I like about it most is that it makes cleaning the wheels much easier

I don't know if it's the best, but it has worked well for me (it's the only type I've tried).
