Now the 2 cars have a pretty big price gap, it's really apples to oranges. Now if price is absolutely a NON-FACTOR, then I would definitely go with the Audi A5. I think the car just looks much classier and there is no denying that german cars feel much better when you are talking about connecting with the road.
For me, price does make a difference in my buying decision so I would go with the IS350 due to "bang for your buck". I've owned my 2001 Audi A4 (purchased in July of 2000) for almost 8 years now with 125k miles on it and it was been a total champ. Runs great still and has had no major mechanical failures throughout it's life. Just your standard maintenance. So I wouldn't really say reliability is that much of a difference. Every auto maker will have their share of lemons (including Lexus and Audi).
But if money is not the issue...........i'd be ALLLLLLLLL over that sexy looking A5.
OK, so you traded in your IS350 for a $40k Tundra, 6 months pass you want to trade in the truck for another $40k+ IS350/A5? Do you have money growing on trees? You must have at least wasted $20,000!!
Regardless, I would get the A5. Why go back to the same car? Obviously you traded it in for a reason, get the A5.
Get the Audi! I traded out of an S4 for the IS350. They are great cars and I had no issues. Actually it was better then the IS. NO RATTLES...and I beat the **** out of that car and it was never in the shop! IS350 is great, dont get me wrong. If I could I would trade the IS for the RS4...You also had the IS so wouldnt something NEW and different make you happy? as another member mentioned the IS didnt really grab your attn so will it this time around? I think Lexus your only option is ISF. If not then get that Audi!
I'm a big audi fan as I use to own a stg III S4 back in the day, get the S5 if $$ is not an issue. There were a lot of misc electrical issues in the previous generation audi but I believe they have improved over the years.
no doubt get the audi! I almost traded my IS350 for the RS4 couple months ago after the test drive! lol
Like DiauR1, I also had a B5 S4 that I traded for my IS350. (Mine was '00 with a GIAC chip, but stock turbos) Without question, I found the Audi more enjoyable to drive. I got rid of it because it became a money pit soon after the warranty ran out. I had problems with much more than electrical issues, e.g., wheel bearings, tie rod ends, control arms, etc. If I were buying a car today I'd give serious consideration to the S5, but if I bought it I'd do so with the expectation of trading it before the warranty ran out.

That RS4 is something else!
I had the newer S4 with the V8...so no turbos. But I had my car for 45k or something like that with in 18 mos and not one thing went wrong. I miss having a manny!!! If the gas wasnt so crazy for the amt of driving I do RS4 would be in the garage and the IS would be a gooner.
get the A5... if ur planning to lease the car or ur gettin a full out warrenty and ur plannning to return the car, or sell it in 4 year... becuse if ur audi passes 100K and u still own it.. u are gonna run into some major electrical/mechanical issues... trust me!!!
I've noticed a few A5s and everyone of them has had the driver side LED DRL burnt out. It must be an electrical glitch. Can't imagine paying so much and the headlights aren't working properly so soon.

Yes, not the best financial move, but if I wasn't in a position to do so I wouldn't. I only lost $2,900 on my trade from the Lex to the truck and I have a buyer for my truck lined up and will lost roughly $8k there, so only about $11k overall which isn't too bad. I'll be dropping a few extra stacks on whichever new car I get to stay ahead on that as well, so I won't be upside down or anything.
I didn't trade in the IS 350 because I didn't like it, I actually thought I would require a truck for a few things. I ended up not purchasing a boat like I thought I was going to, so that "need" kind of went out the window.
