To share my own experience, I recently considered trading my '11 IS 250 for a '11 A5. After test driving the A5, I thimk it was a big letdown. The steering wheel felt extremely light, so I felt that my 250 handles better than the A5. It acceerated much faster, but that's not a dciding factor.

I have to admit, the exterior of the A5 is impressive. However, when comparing the interior, the A5 felt cheap.

You can pull the fuse on the a4 for the servotronic and it kills thr variable steering and makes the steering much stiffer. I assume you can do the same for the a5

Oh, I was driving by myself so the salesman didn't tell me that. Even if the steering gets stiffer, it felt like a downgrade instead of an upgrade. The 350 should be a solid choice between the two if my 250 felt better than the A5! Plus, it didnt even have keyless entry when keyless entry is standard on my 250.

I still love the Audi headlights though! Sexy! Good thing my IS has the DRL LED too haha

Sure the lex has great numbers, but Ive found that "numbers" don't let you enjoy a drive in the country like the Audi does.
I take the exact same position. I went from a 2003 A4 with the 1.8T to a new 2008 IS250. Both cars have their high points, but I really miss the way the Audi held the road around corners and still provide a decent ride. I've concluded the IS is more for luxury where the Audi is more for sport. Every buyer has a different interest, so I can't say one car is not as good as the other. For me, I like a good mix of luxury on the inside, and sport on the outside. As mentioned by others, the IS is an uneventful and forgettable driving experience.

For the record, my A4 was relatively reliable, save for a few things. The IS has been a tick above that, but not flawless.
