I mean the new Audi 2.0T gets 211hp and 258tq
the new 2.8L bmw 328i gets 230hp and 200tq
cmon Lexus, 200hp and 180tq is still slow for the 2011+ generations

I agree the IS350 is a better buy and more reliable. I do miss mine already. The thing about the Audi is it has 258 ft/lb torque from 1500 rpms so accelerating should be more than adequate. I drive in the lower and mid range of the rpms spectrum which is sweet spot for the Audi. From 5000 rpms and up, the IS has an advantage. I love driving stickshift and that is about the only thing that was a disappointment about my old IS350. Give me an ISF tranny and I'll be happy.
I am hoping the ISxxx will offer a coupe or at least a decent tranny like the ISF for the 3rd generation.

Wow old post resurrection.... Ah well, the A5 is one of my favorite cars, and probably my next as well.
Was on the Audi lot just a week ago looking at them again.
I cant talk for the newer 2011/12 Audi's(heard they started to lock down the ECU a bit) but for power, the 2.0 is just a base starting point. Mods abound that make that AWD leap off the line and corner like on rails. Money is your only limits.
Unlike Lex, Audi also approves a lot of these mods (check out Stasis) and retains the full factory warranty to boot. Also a joy no Lexus owner will ever know is the ability to completely modify the ECU settings via your laptop. Want windows that go up and down via your fob? click>click>save,done... City lights? tab>click>click, done... (The interesting thing about the Audi ECU is that it is just one ECU (per model) for all countries... they just toggle settings on or off for whatever country the car is sold in...)

Secondly, keep in mind to have this Stasis warranty, it must be installed by an authorized Audi dealership. This is no different than F-Sport parts.
More info here: http://www.audiforum.ca/showthread.php?t=66783
The only difference then between Audi and Lexus is the availability of modifications, and in this respect Audi definitely comes out ahead. However this is mainly due to aftermarket part companies deciding to make modifications specifically for Audi products, not Audi actively encouraging modding as opposed to Lexus discouraging it.

I found some in the upper 20's with under 50,000 miles. Different locations charged more. I bought my ISF from ohio for $41.5k while Lexus of Escondido and Westminster where trying to get me for $48-50k!

I can not speak for Audi, but BMW now monitiers it's turbo engine for " out of spec performance" and can/will deny warranty based on what the black box tells them. What is the cost increase to get the base audi to provide another 95hp..just to match a stock is350.. and the possable/probable warrenty/reliabilty issues?
Stock the IS350 has 306hp-277tq and a 0-60 around 4.8, where the stock A5 has 211hp-258 tq with Audi quoting a 0-60 at 6.4.
Yes, I like the "German handling feel" better, but that is why they have F sport parts

Audi for looks. IS350 for power, handling, steering feel, reliability, initial cost, cost of maintenance, better base vs. base radio (haven't heard B&O or ML), and generally just less overall headache.
