It sounds about MSRP...Considering a Premium Pkg without spoiler with Nav bumps for 42145. Your looking at Lux with a 2k add for park assist and 350 add for spoiler, that should be about right for MSRP.

Now time to hone the negotiation skills

If only this was a dealer I talk to in person. This is a dealer in the states I'm dealing with (I'm in Canada) online, so it's tougher to negotiate.

Has anybody shopped off of Ebay? I know this price is below MSRP, but it's still tough to accept when I see the same car with a few miles on it going for 10k less on Ebay.

Cant hurt to try daandman. economy sucks that is your leverage!!!

I know someone did that but his 350 was a salavaged title in cali. He got it for a really good price. He might have been able to change the title back to a normal one since the state he lived in has different laws for a salavged title.

Just look very carefully at the pictures and ask a lot of question. possibly have them send you more pics of the car.

WAY TOO HIGH. Im shoping for a new one right now and without a commitment or anything just give me a quote the lowest I got was 40350 and thats for a 350 wtih Lux/18 and even Mark Levinson audio and Nav. MSRP is like 45 and change.

You should be negotiating a price as a dollar amount above invoice, not below MSRP.

I bought my IS350 with the following extras:
- Luxury Pkg
- ML
- Nav
- Preferred Accessory Pkg
- rear spoiler

MSRP : $45,550
Invoice $39,990

Got it for $39,850 ($5,700 off MSRP), with free tints and All-season floor mats

Might want to specify you're in Canada (I'm assuming from the Ontario in your profile there)

In the US that seems high to me, dunno much about canadian pricing though.

Personally I negotiate based on $ above invoice, not $ below MSRP, since different options have different MSRP markups...

US invoice on that car is about 38.9k... especially if it's on the lot I wouldn't pay over 40 for it. (again US pricing)

Yes I'm in Canada, but I'm buying from the US & this is US dollars.

The general consensus seems to be that the price is too high though, so thank you & I'll search for a better deal.

If you see an IS on eBay with a "few miles" listing at $10K less than MSRP of a new model, then (1) you are comparing 2 cars that are not equipped with the same options, (2) the car on eBay has something horribly wrong with it, or (3) the "Reserve" has not yet been met. I perused cars.com and eBay before I bought my car, but gave up, in part, because there was no significant discount for low mileage used models. Lexus resale is too good for sellers to be listing asking prices that low as a starting point.

I'd steer well clear of e-bay. I got a great deal on my car by playing two dealers against each other on the internet. Not going down to the dealership was actually a more powerful bargaining tool as they didn't "have me where they want me" (ie sitting at their dealership)!

This issue is more of what you need to do to get the car back to Canada, Register it and pay taxes on it. You don't want to pay US taxes on it but you need to do your homework on how to get around all of these things.
