So I'm dropping the car off monday morning to have JR's Custom Auto do a custom install of the Eclipse AVN7000.

I have some concerns though... Since the only place we can have any aftermarket stereos installed is at the bottom of the dash, there's not much room between the dash and the shift ****. Is this why most people who do custom installs get the double din screens as opposed to the fold out screens?

The AVN7000 is 7 x 2 x 6.5 (WxHxD) [inches]

I thought about putting it into drive before opening the screen too, but I'm still not sure if that is enough room. I'm hoping and praying that they can fit the dvd player high enough so that when the screens comes out it'll just hover right above the shift ****.

Also when I brought it into the shops to have them take a look at my car's dash, they didn't say anything about it...
