Default IS premium package same a luxury package?

I'm building my 08 IS250 awd on lexus.com and I don't see a luxury package option, just the premium and preferred acessories. Does anyone know if the premium package is the same thing as luxury package which includes illuminted door sills?

Also I don't see any options to upgrade to the ML or 18 inch rims on the website. Only reason I'm using the website is because dealership told me to submit the request online.

Lexus offers differnt packages in differnt regions. the Prem package is not the same as the LUX the prem package has HIDS heated and cooled seats and wood trim. It dose not include illuminated door stills.

Thank you.

The salesman I dealt with has me very confused because he calls the premium package the LUX package and was not familiar with the different accessories, options etc.... I think I may go back and deal with someone else that knows their stuff.

Is there an option for illuminated doors sills on the 08 250's awd? Special Order? or DIY after purchase.

the thing is, if you look on the lexus webpage and go to the vehicle information page about options and packages. The premium pkg is already included in the luxury package.

I would just special order the Luxury package.
I regret not waiting.
It has the auto tilt and telescope steering wheel and a Rear sunshade, also the white illuminated scuff plates and rain sensing wipers.

but if you dont care or dont need or cant afford these. and all you want is the door still then its an easy upgrade.

The more I look at the options after creating a car, it seems that the luxury package is automatically included, maybe because of where I live??? idk

Besides the standard equipment I added

Bi-xenon High-Intensity Discharge (HID) headlamps and Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFS) with Additional Options
- Bi-xenon High-Intensity Discharge (HID) headlamps and Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFS)
- Premium package
- Rear spoiler
- Preferred accessory package (includes cargo net, trunk mat and wheel locks)

On the cars build sheet under luxury and convience I'm seeing the auto tilt and telescope steering wheel, rain sensing wipers, and illuminated entry system (doors sills I suppose). Weird

They have changed what's included in the Lux Pkg each model year for AWD. And, in '07, there was no Premium Pkg for AWD. So, maybe that's why he's confused. Illuminated sills only come with Lux Pkg, but you can buy the part separate if you don't get the Lux Pkg.

Navigate thru the Lexus website, both Build Your Own, and Options, to educate yourself. THEN, deal with the sales people that will give you the best deal. Even the good salesmen I dealt with weren't sure of all the options.

Not if you get AWD. The Lux Pkg differs for RWD vs. AWD.

Yeah sometimes the dealership has things like those. For instance the X-package isn't available on the AWD 250 but my dealership has the x-package on AWD 250. So i think it just depends on the demographic of the dealership location.

That doesn't make sense. It's true that the X Pkg isn't available with AWD--that means Lexus doesn't build them that way, period. This is different than Lexus only sending certain cars equipped a certain way to certain areas of the country--that is what I think is the deal with the 6MT with Lux Pkg--you could special order, or otherwise re-direct a car headed for another part of the country to that dealer. So, they just happen to have one. When I picked up my car, the dealer had a $44K IS250AWD in the showroom, with laser cruise, and all other options other than Lux Pkg--they had it because the sales manager special ordered one for the dealer. Otherwise, you wouldn't find one in my area. I could not have built one that way on Lexus.com.
