So the manual hack unlocks the phone, maps, and DVD movies while driving?

the switch allows you to enter destination while in motion, gives you about a minute to enter. The other items it allows with out the switch. A must for me!!

But by switch, are you referring to the TV-Navi kit?

Sorry no..guess i wasnt clare on that!

The switch they are talking about is in the nav hack thread. This requires you to purchase a switch, i got mine at radio shack, and install it to the two wires (cant recall colors).

I have a post in that thread and a pic of the switch i installed. Technique also has a thread and info on the switch in his write up! There are 2 threads on this DIY and the one from Technique offers the "switch" method and well worth it so you can enable destination thru the switch while in motion. The other set up doesnt allow destination while in motion entry. But you still gain the phonebook and other options while the car is in motion. The DVD is seperate and you just ground the red wire, no switch is needed for this part if you have it.

hope that better explains it

The kit has nothing to do with this thread, that is a PLUG & PLAY option that also offers a switch. That is around 400$ to do. But no cutting of wires if you find the beneifit in that.
