it's pretty simple...

sand it down real good, primer, base coat, mid coat, and clear coat

^^if you go there you can get the paint in a spray can so you don't have to buy a painters gun.

but it's pretty pricey, if yo u can find a professional to do it for the same price, go with the professional

I took mine to a couple paint shops and they recommened not to do it cuz the paint will chip off. I followed the DIY and it was pretty easy. It probably would've of been cleaner if a professional did it, but it didn't come out too bad and it only cost about 25-30 bucks to do it.

That is a great writeup. I wish I would have seen this before I spent the $$ and had mine inititally professionally painted. With that said, I had chipping right away and ended up going another route. We actually wrapped my grille in high quality black vinyl, and then to play it safe added ventureshield on top of that. It has held up great and you can not tell at all that it is not painted. Hopefully you guys won't have the chipping problems I did, but if so here is another more durable solution.

when i was taking off the weatherstrip i kinda used a lot of force... almost every clip is still in the grill after i took the strip out (only 2 left still in the strip). when i close the hood the strip doesnt sit flush where it bends and it looks bad :/ any ideas on what to do? i didt actually take the grill out yet cause i didnt have masking tape to protect the bumper first so when i do take it out i will try to pop the clips out and somehow get them back in the weatherstrip...
