Got some JDM tires today
Muhahaha.. new toys adding to my 2is.
So happy that I received a new set of tires today from sponsorship. It is the Potenza RE760, a new model just released a few weeks ago, and JDM of course. The tires look very promised for both performance and A/S driving.
It has very slick asymmetrical thread, W-rated 340AA, can't wait to try them on next week.
Potenza RE760 Spt

Thanks to Julie_H and Jim_M @ Bridgestone North America.

No for now, but yes for later!
RE750 covers wilder size range for now and is in symmetrical design; unlike RE760 is in asymmetrical. It is a different tire in my opinion and I believe Bridgestone is superseding RE750 in next 12 months. According to specs of RE760, BRS improves its dry control and reduce road noise (no mention of comparing model). If the 760 is comparing with the 750, I guess the 760 will lack a bit in wet control because there is no perfect design*. It is typical to see gain some and lose some in tire design.
I have RE750 on my NPC91 as my weekend car and also serve as a part-time show car in local events. I like the 750s a lot since it does not lose noticeable control in a wet day. To me the RE750 is just a perfect tire for California. I wish RE760 will serve better. I can’t wait.
It is complicated to choose a proper Potenza but I love it!

Just an update, the RE760 is very sticky and quiet.
It feels like riding on RE01R (Bridgestone's drift tire) but without the noise, and hard to believe it's 340 UTQG (30k miles maybe). I kind of feel there are much more I can push when cornering, but I just want to baby the tire at this moment. Comparing with RE750, I have to say it has much better grip and much quiet. It is a better (much) tire.
I don't drive my 2IS in a rain day, so I cannot tell how it handle in wet.
It is really a good tire!

firestone is american.
bridgestone owns firestone.
Bridgestone purchased Firestone in 1988 for $2.6 billion, with the combined company being the world’s largest tire and rubber company. One of the first steps taken by the newly formed company was to build a new truck tire plant in Warren County, Tenn. The Warren County plant was completed in 1990. That same year, Bridgestone and Firestone operations in the Americas were consolidated as Bridgestone Firestone, Inc. As part of the integration with Bridgestone’s existing U.S. operations, Bridgestone Firestone moved its headquarters from Akron to Nashville in 1992.

I think you are talking about the Bridgestone North America, the group runs Bridgestone tires business in USA. BTW, only high-end Bridgestone tires are Made-in-Japan. Firestone... it was an American's company, but it's now under Bridgestone N.A.
I am not sure relationship about Bridgestone and Firestone, but I think Japanese help out the American business in this case.
Since when Lexus is JDM?? It is always JDM, but it is only 3?? years in Japan. It is complicated!
