i got hosed by the burbank pd here in so cal. Cost $110 plus $10 processing. I chose to pay it bc i didnt want to drill the holes. It is complete BS and the cops really should spend their time doing more important things than harassing ppl with no front plate. But technically it is the "law" so I was wrong and I paid for it.

I saw my car without a front plate 11 years ago and was hooked, never ran one since.

I got lucky with the IS. They didn't drill the holes yet so no bumper plugs needed this time!

I've been pulled over for it but usually because it's in combination with something else. Ahhh I give them so many options too,the 5% tint and clear cover on the back plate which is illegal in NY, no seatbealt, cell phone (i hate bluetooth) and /or speeding.

No tickets, ever, thanks to a little (read: big) thing called T&A. Sorry guys, you know how cops are! But here's what worked with a female cop once: I told her I just had some scratches on the front bumper fixed and I'm going back the body shop tomorrow to get the plate bracket put back on.

Ouch!!! This is why I now have a plate on my car. With window tints all the way around and pretty dark I dont get the looks I once did with the plate off. I had the hardest time going back to my Lexus dealer and asking them to drill my front bumper Oh well.....

I've had my front plate on since new but just took it off recently since I installed the front lip, the plate just totally destroy the look of the car doesn't matter what kind of frame you have. I guess I'll just gamble.

Yea I agree, front license plates really mess up the car's appearance, at least in my opinion. I've driven past a lot of police cars without front plates but none of them have pulled me over YET.

Tim,

I'll put it on for you. I just avoided that same road block you told me about last night and turned off into a neighborhood.

It's legal in NV to not have a front plate. Interestingly enough, I'm moving to DC for one year of school and taking my NV plates with me... I wonder if I'll have trouble there...
