Power windows too powerful?
Hey guys, I noticed this from day one when i got the car and I'm wondering if you guys noticed this too.
When I roll up the windows, I feel like the window is closed TOO tight ....i feel the whole door nudge ever so slightly. almost as if the motor inside is pushing the window really hard up into the door frame.
It worries me because I feel like it's
a) streesing the window/frame seal
b) stressing the motor in the door
c) putting pressure on other parts of the door causing it to 'nudge' the whole interior panel.
Opinions?

Your concerns a, b and c might be valid but just about every car I've had with power windows has done the same to a greater or lesser extent.
It doesn't make me feel good - I can see the entire door flex when I put the window up. But they all do it (ISx50). My Supra does nothing like this, but it doesn't have a framed window. The Scion tC we have also does not do this and it does have a framed window.
No idea if it will be a long term issue. Steel's stress life is nearly infinite, so I'm not terribly concerned about it failing, but it isn't exactly what I expected for sure.

These power windows have the anti-pinch technology so no worries. Basicaly, there is a small circuit that detects a change in current while the window is rolling up (I.E. something caught between window and frame and slows motor). This will cause it to cut back and reverse the polarity of the motor and ths roll down the window. your car will be fine, the gen 1's had a similar powerful window design. No worries.

errr...i guess im the only one, i love the power windows. i love how fast they are.
and im convinced lexus engineered this car's power windows to work fine, this is the 3rd year out and i've yet to hear any thing going wrong with the power windows

I agree..
3 of mine actually "thump" close... while the front passenger side does not "thump" when it closes...
Also, noticed a slight vibration on the front drivers window.. when fully closed...
Noise not there when i drop the window a few milimeters..
