Default Cleansweep question

Hey everyone:

I would like to know how the JL Audio Cleansweep affects our stereo controls. I know it's suppose to take away any type of equalization, but can anyone tell me if it defeats the Sound (bass, treble, midrange) and DSP controls? Also, does our system (I have a non-ML) even need the Cleansweep?

I'm not to sure how the cleansweep works but I do know because of the way our stock stereos are set up you need a CleanSweep CL-SSI too.

If you are just adding a sub, there is no need for the cleansweep, just use a LOC.

If you are replacing the components, then it all depends where the equalization is done. If its done in the head unit, then yes, the Cleansweep will send a clean signal to your aftermarket amp, but if the equalization is done in the factory amp and its being replaced, then all u need is a LOC (the crossover settings can be done on the aftermarket amp)

yeah you do need the summing device. it filters the sound. i have no idea how would it sound without the summing device though. i would recommend getting the rockford 3sixty it has one built in.

Do you know how you're supposed to calibrate the 3sixty?

Last post a long time ago but just put in the clean sweep/summing device with Nav and sounds great. Added aftermarket speakers with a 4 channel amp and a Jl mono amp for a 12in Sub. You can use the factory master volume **** but good to have the Cleansweep **** mounted also. As long as your volume is at 40 then the CleanSweep **** can control the volume at a perfect setting. Some pics if it helps. The summing device output in the pic isnt hooked up just bec I didnt plug it in before I took the picture my B.

I just talked to the guys over at Traffic Jamz about the cleansweep. If your just adding a sub and amp then no you dont need it. If your gonna add aftermarket amp to your mids and high then yes because it levels out your frequencies so you can tuned it with your aftermarket amp.

Ya thats correct I had my Sub with the Jl mono amp installed by Traffic Jams 7 months ago. They just tie into the rear 8in woofer using a $20 Scosche Line out converter. Didnt have any problems till I added the 4 channel amp.

Alex2422, the cable dressing you've got there looks really nice. Can I ask where you got it?
