Okay, first off can they rotate the tires on an IS350? I had one tech say yes but my printout says no. They tried to hit me up for 260 at 8800 miles for a service which is basically an oil change. Is anybody else pissed about this? I don't drive my car much but this is insane. Without the AC filter change it is $160. This is nuts. I would like to know what needs to be done on my car this early that deserves all that. BTW, this is the 10k mile service.

Do Most people go in there and just hand over the credit card and not ask any questions regarding what is done?

No. You cannot rotate tires on the IS350.

And I do my own AC filter change ($30 filter and 3 minutes to do it). It's recommended that you change the filter every 15k miles, not 8800 miles.

Therefore, 5k and 10k Service should be about $100 for the oil change and XX-point check.

Your dealer is shady...

Are other dealers not as shady? This sounds like the typical BS they feed constumers honestly. Where can I order the filter part for the Cabin? Does it matter if I get oil changes at other places, Jiffylube?

tire rotation... are they rotating the tire from left to right? I have no idea, I though the tire can't be rotate since is different size on the front and back. And, for all the cars that I owned, including the RX300 and the IS now, all I do is oil change every 5k. and do the big maintenance like 30k, 60k and 90k. and change my air filter and cabin filter regularly.

Filter change is also 15k standard at my dealer (whether on a 5k or 7.5k interval), but I ask for a filter change every 7500 anyway.

Lexus is very expensive for maintenances - especially typical functions - but you get what you pay for.

you can get the filter from any dealer, or you can get it from our vendor in CL. or you can call Lexus and get the part number and buy it from Toyota.

Cannot rotate the IS350 tires without breaking the tires off the rims and swapping both sides of the rears and both sides of the fronts and it is not worth it. The AC (In-Cabin Microfilter) filter is very easy to change via the glovebox and should not be changed until 15k. Oil changes at Jiffy Lube should be fine, not much to an ISX50 oil change. I had mine done at Jiffy Lube at 1K and again at 9200K, it is too cold for me to do this winter. You should be fine.

The first service (5K) on our '06 IS250 was free. Are they not doing that anymore?

You can't rotate the tires, front back, or left right. The tires we have are directional, I think.

Some people have had bad experiences with the quick lube places. Maybe the Toyota dealer is a good compromise between outside shop and dealer service. Just make sure you provide the filter because no current Toyota model uses that filter, so they likely don't have it in stock.

I think I will try the Toyota dealership for oil changes. That sounds good.

Update: I complained about my service guy and got my next service on my RX350 for free. Not bad but I won't be back too often I think.
