Lexus is not for speed; you will find money worth better on a Mustang than Accord also.
And, if Accord has better quality.... go for Accord then. Accord is not even JDM but only for outside Japan.

As for the paint. ALL new cars these days come with soft paint. Yes Porsche, mercedes, bmw. ALL cars do!

Thats why people get a clear bra. I have a clear bra on my IS250 and I dont even have a SINGLE rock chip.
Ya, I’ve owned about 10 Hondas in the past 15+ years and that’s was one of my most consistent complaints, really soft paint. On a few of them, after 1 year the front end was just horrible and we live in a mild climate (meaning you don’t find rocks on the road much). If hes basing his transition on this, he will quickly not like the Accord.

For your reasons you gave, it doesn't make any sense to go to a Honda.

The Lexus is a much better car.

Was the car too expensive for you?

I think he strickly moved to the Honda because HP is his number one priority.

The other reasons are just excuses to make him feel better about the downgrade.

good luck to the OP with the accord. i can understand his frustration with Lexus quality lately (sound insulation, rattles, ride comfort … etc) but unfortunately i feel that his new choice is more of a downgrade overall but at least he'll have more HP... to each his own

But, but, but wait a minute........the Accord sends its power to the wrong wheels. It all goes to the same ones you have to steer with. Oh me.

Good luck anyway. Accords aren't all bad. Have to think that had you bought a 350 you wouldn't be so quick to leave us. JMO

The Accords are built in Marysville, Ohio and not in Japan. The parts are cheap and so is the build quality. They are cars built with mass production in mind. I've seen the build on the accords and since 98 they heven't gotten better. Thats 3 model changes later. They may look different but they are FWD cars made for families and not for performance geared enthusiasts.

A switch from the IS to and accord is not an option for me even if the new accord was free. Sorry but I like Hondas, just not a ho-hum accord.

maybe he should've gotten an is350? just my $0.02...

and to the OP, enjoy your accord. however, if you ever feel as if you're one of the masses in an accord (and soon enough, you will), don't say we didn't warn you...

The new Accords have an improved package, but gawd damn they are butt ugly, and FWD to boot.
