Front Fog Lights being REALLY Hot.
I too thought the OEM bulbs get the housings too hot. With a temp gun I measured the temp of the low beam (OEM HID) and they were at 95 deg F and the fogs were at 125 deg F. This was when the vehicle was driven for 45mins in 40 deg F ambient temp so in summer it would definitely get a lot warmer. Glad I switched to 3000K HID fogs instead. Now they both are at a cool 95 deg F.
HIDs on Fogs really worth it? (Parts + Labor)? Are they much brighter? I want to go for the 1IS look with yellow fogs. I am planning on yellow overlays and JDM yellow fogs. If anyone has suggestion, please let me know.

This is exactly what I did, HID will always be brighter, but I didn't want that to overpower my lowbeams. I put Yellow same wattage 55w yellow bulbs and it was not yellow enough. Basically a step up from the cream oem bulbs. I then bought the Rvinyl protective kit that is yellow and it is fine. Plus, it protect the lense from rock chips. use the code"Rvinyl" (case sensitive) at checkout. It will not melt either.
Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't you not suppose to touch the HID bulbs with your fingers because the oil on you fingers ruin the bulb and make it have a shorter life span...
