IS250 ipod hook up
I am waiting a month until the new Kensington line comes out. Stubby power connector (which is what we need in the IS) and hopefully short wires for center console hookups. One has a bluetooth option, $99. I may try that and upgrade my phone. They all have a little steering wheel remote.

Here is what I use.
For $3.99 ( plus $2.98 shipping)you can't beat it.
It is the correct dock connector at one end and the 3.5mm plug at the other.

this is what i did in my car.
1. bought the fuse to cigarette adpater from radio shacks for like 6bucks. connected the wiring to my fuse box and there is aspot behind the e-brake in the auto6spd that you can just put the wiring behind. its actually behind the carpet.
2. bought the extension cigartte adapter. 6$ radio shack..
3. connected the cigarette extension cord into the newly wired fuse-to-cigarette adapeter.
4. ran the extension adapter down the side of my car underneath the plastic(very easy to tuck in) until about the seatbelt area and then tucked the rest underneath.
5. belkin adpater that ive used ever since the ipod came out(cuts down on static, has a volume control that only lets you choose the volume output on that so you cant mess with it on your ipod.(which i think is great).
6. finally ran the aux cable down the side of my center console and connected into the belkin adpater.
7.ran the belkin adapter between the drivers side seat and console and put some velcro on the car and the ipod. so it not sticks to the side on the console
ive got one dedicated ipod for my car so i didnt even think about how it could ruin the physical aspect of the ipod, besides i have one of those plastic backs on it to "protect" it.
anyways if anyone wants pictures let me know and ill take some. it sounds ghetto. but actually is very functional. and the ipod just doesnt sit in my glove box with wires everywhere.

I am using this. It charges and the audio out is via the dock connector, not the headphone jack.

here are the pics. enjoy
forgot to mention, the belkin adapter, not only controls the volume output(therefore rendering your volume control on the ipod itself while connected, but charges the ipod and will auto shut off when the car turns off.

yeah but you cant control the artist, so whats the point in making about 100 playlists when you have a 30gig ipod with 25gigs of music and you enjoy most of the music at any random time?
also if that is the picture of the lexus ipod adapter, if you read the other thread it says its exactly like the vaistech minus sat...
i would love for my ipod to be controlled via console/steering wheel... but not if i cant control it completely and even more so when you pay 240 for the lexus one and lose your sirius. might as well go with the vaistech
