Okay, now if you put something in that cup, isn't that going to rattle and cause more noises... noises that you originally wanted to remove?

I guess you can line it with felt?

I lined the bottom of the center console cup area with felt. Works like a charm and i'm sure would work just as well in this "secret" area.

Has anyone placed a speaker in there wether it was a ML center channel or aftermarket? I am sure power is going to that harness.

What he means secret compartment I think he means for emergency only, something that needs to be hidden quickly Wink Wink.

Great heads-up. Line the cup with felt or thin foam to stop hidden items from rattling.

haha swt. there is another one in the arm rest you can use. the one to access the bolts to remove the arm rest and aux input
