Question Purchasing Volk Progressiv MEs

Well I am finally going to purchase my first set of after market wheels. PNice was the one to inspire me to order 19" Volk Progressiv MEs:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...=progressiv+me

The sizes I am looking for are: 19x8.5 +35 Face 1 (Front) and 19x9.5 +36 Face 2 (Rear).

Do you guys think this is a good fitment? Will it rub with lowering?

Where is the best place to order the wheels?

Thanks!

My favorite wheels on the 2IS! You should send a PM to combfilter about where to get Volks. BTW..You might want to consider lowering before you put the wheels on.

Thanks for the help. Yes, I will be getting either Tein CS or F-Sport springs/shocks during the ~3 month wait for wheels.

Anyone else looking for Progressiv MEs?

You can go bigger, 19x9 front and 19x10 rear COURSE it depends on the tires you put on, you mainland guys unfortunately like to go for that big tire look rather than the stretch vip look

According to PNice's posts, he has the same sizes I will be ordering. IMO it looks pretty flush from his pics.

I am going 19x8.5 et 36mm and 19x10 et 38mm. I am getting Work Varianza
T1Ss though. I think that a 275 tire with a 10 inch wheel has the perfect look and the 235 on the 8.5 up front will match. I have been waiting over 2 months for them already though so who knows when then will finally fricken get here.

Got another quote for $3k. Looks like the order time is at LEAST 3 months. Apparently the last order took 5 months. Why does it take so long? Are they magic wheels? Does Harry Potter make the wheels?

One thing about Japan, they take New Yrs very very seriously. Lotta places shut down for vacation, same goes for why your fav current anime seems to disappear for 3wks durring dec/jan. BUT as for why the 'last order' took 5 months... who knows

I heard a story of a guy asking for a special 'weird' fitment with -offsets and special finishes THEN changed his mind and THEN change it back back, of course his mooncakes took 6months then he had the nerve to say it was REV-01's fault, all REV-01 did was take the order and send it to japan... some ppl eh?

I am also thinking of getting these wheels. Is a drop neccessary? I am really against a drop. Vancouver driving conditions do not allow for a drop...I have so many speed bumps, construction, bad roads on my routes that I dont want to drop. I was thinking 20's though...I will keep my eye on this thread...

And I am also confused..."big tire" look and "VIP" look? I dont understand what you mean by a VIP look. I personally want tires that are flush to everything, and wide. I love wideeeeee.

VIP is where people put tires that are too small for the wheels on and stretch them. Stupid looking in my opinion and sacrifices ride and handling.
If you are using a rear wheel that is 19x9.5 to 19x10 inches put a 275/30 on the fronts you should use a 235/35/19 if you are running 8.5 inch wide wheels. VIP to me should be expensive and top notch, but that is what is meant by "VIP" look when people are talking about wheels and tires.
