Ride quality
I'm typing with a broken right hand, so I'll make this as brief as possible.
My IS' ride quality has become a headache. It feels sloppy over road imperfections. It clomps over potholes and stumbles over expansion joints, rattling all the while. I have Luxury Package w/ 18" wheels. I hate to sound dramatic, but the last Accord I drove handled rode imperfections more gracefully than this car (not to mention my friend's A4 w/ 19" wheels).
Anyway, not sure where I'm going with this, just wondering if anyone else is distracted by their 2IS' ride quality and if there is anything that can be done about it.
This quote from C&D (in reference to a BMW X3) basically sums up how I feel:
Thanks.

It was 2003 when we first sampled BMW’s X3, an SUV whose ride wasn’t just hard-edged but concussive. The X3 didn’t cruise down the road. It clomped.
aftermarket shocks?!?!
I dont notice that bad of a right. I do have a rattle from the center speaker grill.
Maybe it is the type of tires on the car. I know Michellin's have a very good right. Maybe that is what you need to look into

Summer tires have a better ride than all seasons in summer.

It also depends on what car you're coming from.
The Accord leans towards a bit of a cruiser car, so the suspension is a bit softer compared to the Lexus, but it shouldn't be by much.
I came from an Infiniti FX35 and my 350 can only come to about 80% of the ride quality. While the two cars are in different classes, I think the IS isn't too bad considering it's a bit of a sporty car. O, I have the summer tires on my IS as well. I live in San Francisco, so road imperfections are a daily thing.
Try getting tires w/ larger sidewalls

Not too many cars ride rougher then my Z28. Z28 Bilstein all the way around, poly on all suspension. It pulled a 1.05g in a lateral test!!!
Are your running winter tires? What kind of temperatures have you had around there lately? The IS feels very stiff in the cold weather but only couple more months of that and we'll be back to normal.
I ve had two IS's I had a 25o back in Nov 05 when it first came out and now a 08' 350 the ride on the IS I think is to soft and comfortable. The IS almost doesnt feel sporty if you have driven any new BMW you will understand what I am talking about. The IS has a very soft comfortable ride for a sport sedan
i went to tein ss coilovers and the ride quality to be honest is BETTER than stock in my opinion... got in a loaner the other week and ride quality didn't appeal to me at all...
